Functionality:

Montanov 68 is a green emulsifier for lamellar emulsions, approved by Ecocert, Cosmos, and Natrue. It forms liquid crystal structures that enhance skin hydration by gradually releasing water upon application. This helps reduce transepidermal water loss (TEWL) and strengthens the skin’s lipid barrier. Montanov 68 also improves the bioavailability of active ingredients in formulations.

• Easily emulsifies up to 40% oil phase, up to 50-60% depending on the formulation

Usage:

Heat the emulsifier with the oil phase to 75°C. Pour the heated aqueous phase into the heated oil phase and mix with a hand blender until an emulsion forms. Recommended for use with a 25% oil phase. Fatty alcohols (cetyl, cetearyl) can be added to enhance liquid crystal formation.

Dosage: 1-5%

Storage:

Do not store above 40°C. Keep away from heat sources in a tightly closed container.
