Functionality:
Laureth-23 is an ethoxylated lauryl alcohol with 23 moles of ethylene oxide, used primarily as an emulsifier in oil-in-water emulsions. It is effective in cosmetic and pharmaceutical products as a surfactant, emulsifier, and solubilizer. Laureth-23 is particularly useful in formulations that must remain stable against hydrolytic decomposition. It improves the consistency of products, allowing even distribution in skin care formulations. It has medium viscosity compared to other Laureth compounds, with Laureth-40 having the highest viscosity.

Recommended concentration: up to 6%
Storage:
Store at temperatures below 35°C in a tightly sealed container, protected from moisture. The product maintains its characteristics for at least 36 months.
Safety:
The Cosmetic Ingredient Review (CIR) expert panel has concluded that Laureth-23 is safe for use in cosmetic products when formulated to avoid irritation. It has been deemed safe at concentrations of up to 6%.
Preparation of Dry Skin Cream:
Heat both phases to 80°C. Add the oil phase to the water phase while stirring at high speed. Maintain the temperature at 80°C and continue stirring for 15 minutes. Let the mixture cool and continue stirring until it reaches 35°C. Add fragrance and preservatives, then mix thoroughly.
