Functionality:

Soy wax acts as an occlusive agent on the skin, conditioning and providing moisturization and softness. It is compatible with a wide range of cosmetic oils, enabling a broad range of structures. Compared to other waxes used for solid pencil products, soy wax can be used to create more flexible pencils or softer products, and its hardness can be adjusted by increasing its concentration for various applications. In skincare products, it imparts a smooth feel, while as a conditioning agent, it can be used to provide shine and curl control—important characteristics for hair care products.

Soy wax is the first acceptable alternative to petroleum jelly in personal care products. Both ingredients were developed for use in skin care, cosmetics, hair care, and deodorants.

Additionally, soy wax is used for candle making. Compared to paraffin candles, soy candles burn cleaner, more evenly, and without soot. They are less harmful for individuals with allergies, safe for children and pregnant women, and produce minimal soot, posing no health risks.

Usage:

Heat to a liquid state in the oil phase of your formulations. Ensure that the soy wax is completely dissolved in the oil phase (mix if necessary) to minimize the risk of graininess in the final formula.

Incorporation:

• In creams, up to 5%

• In lip balms and other anhydrous products, up to 10%

Storage:

Store the material in a sealed container in a dry place, away from direct sunlight. Avoid heat sources and ignition. Store in original containers or other high-density polyethylene containers that seal tightly and are clearly labeled. Immediately clean up any spilled material.

Safety:

Handle in accordance with GMP and safety regulations. The melted product can cause severe burns. Use the melted product in well-ventilated areas. Use personal protective equipment if necessary.
